These are the standard rules of King. Four players: you and three at the table. A 32-card deck, 7 up to ace, 8 cards each and 8 tricks a deal. The game has fifteen deals: seven minus deals where you avoid penalties, then eight trump deals where you win points back. All the points in a game add up to zero. The highest total after fifteen deals wins.
Play
- The deal passes clockwise. The player on the dealer's left leads the first trick, then play goes clockwise, one card each.
- You must follow the suit that was led. If you cannot, play any card (with the exceptions below).
- The highest card of the led suit takes the trick. Order: 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A.
- Whoever takes a trick leads the next one.
Deals and points
Special rules
- The minus deals have no trumps. Each one is worth -16 in total, except the Mix, which is worth -96.
- In No hearts, No King of hearts and the Mix you may not lead a heart while you hold another suit.
- In No King of hearts and the Mix, if you hold the King of hearts and cannot follow suit, you must throw it.
- A deal ends early once every penalty card in it is taken: all the hearts, all the jacks, all the queens, or the King of hearts.
- In the trump deals, if you cannot follow suit you must play a trump if you hold one. Any trump beats any other suit. With no trumps, the highest card of the led suit always wins.
Controls
- On your turn, "Your turn" shows above your hand. Tap a card to play it. Dimmed cards cannot be played right now.
- When it is your call in a trump deal, only your first three cards are face up. Pick a suit or no trumps.
- The score is kept in the notebook. On a phone, the Score button at the top opens the whole table.
